Captain Morgan®
Captain Morgan®
Over 400 years ago on the tropical isles of the Caribbean, a legend was born. (No, not the Captain – rum.) Starting out as sugar cane, adventure-seeking locals squeezed out the sweet juices inside – which they fermented, distilled and aged, to produce the very first rum.
In 1493, a privateer named Columbus inspired folks back home to up-anchor to the Caribbean, where they traded tea cups for sugar cane. These ingenious souls then added their own secret blend of herbs, spices and fruits. It wasn't long before spiced rum was the favourite grog in the taverns of Port Royal, Jamaica.
Captain Morgan always had a sense for adventure, and when he first caught wind of the rich, sweet rum, he soon followed suit in creating his own mix.

De Kuyper Liqueurs
De Kuyper Royal Distillers (1695) is a privately held Dutch company in the business of manufacturing and marketing distilled spirits and liqueurs.
The company started by Petrus De Kuyper as a manufacturer of barrels and casks used in the transportation of spirits and beer. In 1966, De Kuyper sold the right to manufacture and market their brands in the United States to Jim Beam Brands under a perpetual agreement. American consumers know the brand as John De Kuyper & Son, which makes liqueurs such as Triple Sec and various flavours of Schnapps such as Pucker, generally for consumption in sweet cocktails or shots.
In 1995, on the occasion of its 300th anniversary, the company received the title "Royal" from Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. This led to the company changing its name from Johannes de Kuyper & Zoon to De Kuyper Royal Distillers. In the same year, Erven Warnink - the leading producer of advocaat and cream liqueurs – was taken over by De Kuyper Royal Distillers.Currently available at A.S. Brydens:

Drambuie
After the Battle of Culloden in 1746, Prince Charles Edward Stuart fled to the island of Skye. There, he was given sanctuary by Captain John MacKinnon of Clan MacKinnon. According to family legend, after staying with the captain, the prince rewarded him with this prized drink recipe. (This version of events is disputed by historians – some believe it to be a story concocted to boost sales of the drink). The legend holds that the recipe was then given in the late 19th century by Clan MacKinnon to James Ross. Ross ran the Broadford Hotel on Skye, where he developed and improved the recipe, initially for his friends and then later to patrons in the 1870s. It was one of these friends who coined the name. Ross then sold it further afield, eventually to France and the United States. The name was registered as a trademark in 1893. Ross died young, and to pay for their children's education, his widow was obliged to sell the recipe, by coincidence to a different MacKinnon family, in the early 20th century. The latter MacKinnon family has been producing the drink since. The first commercial distribution of Drambuie, in Edinburgh, was in 1910. Only twelve cases were originally sold. In 1916, Drambuie became the first liqueur to be allowed in the cellars of the House of Lords, and Drambuie began to ship world-wide to stationed British soldiers. In the 1980s, the producers of Drambuie began to advertise the liqueur. More recently work has been done to strengthen the reputation of the brand after a downturn in popularity and sales.

El Dorado Rum
Lured by the legend of a City of Gold ruled by a gilded King, his body dusted with gold, early explorers braved the ancient heartland of old Guiana in search of 'El Dorado' (the Golden One). The legendary city of gold is reputed to have been Manoa, in the Rupununi region of the country.
Today you can discover the true gold of Guyana, El Dorado Rum – a range of superb Demerara rums of unequalled quality and variety which have consistently won the highest International awards.
Their unique flavour and taste is much due to the tropical climate of this lush country of Guyana - which translates from its Amerindian name "Land of many waters" - and the three centuries of rum production along the banks of the Demerara river.

Grand Old Parr
Grand Old Parr (often simply just Old Parr) is a blended Scotch whisky named after the reputed oldest man in England. The colour is a dark golden amber and the nose is pleasant and full of fragrance. On the palate, the whisky is rich and full of impact. It is instantly malty with plenty of sweetness present. This sweetness comes in the form of honey, vanilla, cereals and caramel-like notes, which are backed up by some lovely rich dried fruits. The finish is full of these warming, slightly drying wood spices with some cinnamon bark particularly prominent.

Fireball Whisky
Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey is a cinnamon-flavoured whiskey-based liqueur produced by the Sazerac Company.
Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey needs no introduction. If you haven't tried it yet, just imagine what it would be like to get a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face if his legs were on fire and tasted like cinnamon. Like it, love it, shoot it-- your Dad's whiskey never tasted so smooth. What happens next is up to you.
Rumour has it that Fireball Whiskey was forged sometime in the mid-80s during the coldest winter Canada had ever seen, when a mixologist turned mad scientist accidentally created a permanent solution to frostbite. The concoction slowly and quietly made its way around North America for a few years, a sort of secret handshake between veteran bartenders. Fireball took an important turn when several bottles were smuggled to the lower 48 from Canada. Word got out and now we are just trying to make it fast enough to keep the fire burnin'

Glenmorangie's stills are the tallest in Scotland. Their long copper necks stand at 16 feet which means that only the very lightest and purest vapuors make it to the top, giving a smoother, more elegant whisky.

Gordon's London Dry Gin
In 1769, Alexander Gordon founded his world famous distillery in the Southwark area of London. He went on to lay the foundations for the creation of the style of gin for which the English became renowned. Happily, the exacting standards which Alexander Gordon set are maintained to this day. Gordon's® is triple distilled to guarantee the purity of the gin, and the exact blend of our botanicals has remained a closely guarded secret.
WHAT MAKES GORDON'S, GORDON'S?
Gordon's® contains juniper berries, carefully selected from the pick of each year's crop. These are gently shaken from the tree and then stored for two years to intensify the oils and mellow the flavours. The strength of the juniper gives Gordon's the classic gin taste.
As well as juniper berries our recipe includes coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice, orris root, orange and lemon peel. Coriander gives the dry and citrus taste (rather than lemon or orange peel that gives a blunt and overpowering taste in many other gins). Angelica is the magic ingredient that ties together the other botanicals to give a long and complex flavour.
Gordon's & Tonic, Anyone?
Gin & tonic dates back to the days of the British Empire in India. After a hard day in the saddle under the baking sun, British officers would look forward to the cooler hours after sunset, when essential socialising could be done. Of course, sunset is when malaria-carrying mosquitoes are at their most troublesome. The British had discovered that quinine was useful in combating malaria, though its flavour left a little to be desired. Gin took away the foul taste of the quinine, and so the two were drunk together as the sun went down. The gin & tonic was born.

Ron Zacapa Rum
Aged at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level in a house above the clouds, Zacapa Rum has a heavenly taste as unique as the story behind it.
Zacapa's creation starts with the fertile volcanic soil of Guatemala. No other place in the world is better suited for the cultivation of sugar cane than its southern coast. Unlike most rums, which use molasses, Zacapa uses only the first pressing of sugar cane, delightfully called virgin sugar cane honey.
After distillation, Zacapa Rum goes on a momentous journey to the Guatemalan highlands. In the cool mountain air, Zacapa is aged according to the solera system, a process where rums of different ages and personalities are blended together over time in a series of casks that previously stored robust bourbons, delicate sherries and fine Pedro Ximenez wines. The final product in each bottle is a blend of rums aged between 6 and 23 years for Zacapa 23, and between 6 and 25 years for Zacapa XO.
Like a fine cognac or single malt Scotch, the rich, sophisticated taste of Zacapa is best enjoyed when sipped and savoured neat or on the rocks.

Or pour together in a martini glass and garnish with coffee beans for an elegant, longer drink.

Smirnoff Vodka
Created in 1864, Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka is now the number one-selling premium vodka brand in the world, and is distributed in over 130 countries.
The success of Smirnoff is based on a long history of innovation. Founder Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov founded a distillery in Moscow under the trading name PA Smirnoff, and pioneered column charcoal filtration in the 1870s. He built a premium product that by 1886 had captured two-thirds of the Moscow vodka market. After the Russian Revolution, Pyotr's son Vladimir was sentenced to death by firing squad – three times. And three times he was reprieved. On being sentenced a fourth time Vladimir fled to Paris, where he attempted to rebuild his father's brand using the French spelling of the vodka, Smirnoff.
With people increasingly excited by Smirnoff, a new cocktail emerged. Thanks to some work from Smirnoff executives in the US in the 1940s, and with Smirnoff No.21 as the base, the Moscow Mule was invented. Ginger beer and lime were mixed along with the premium vodka. As a result, sales of Smirnoff No.21 doubled and the cocktail sparked a vodka craze. The Bond films brought both vodka and Smirnoff firmly into the mainstream, thanks to 007's signature request for a "Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred". Smirnoff vodka featured in the very first Bond film, Dr No, in 1963.
Try out great new variations on Smirnoff, and taste the latest chapter in a true history of pioneering spirit.

19 Crimes
Nineteen crimes turned criminals into colonists. Upon conviction, British rogues, guilty of at least one of the 19 Crimes were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death. This punishment by 'transportation' began in 1788, and many of the lawless died at sea. For the rough-hewn prisoners who made it to the shore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a frontier penal colony, they forged a new country and new lives, brick by brick. This wine celebrates the rules they broke and the culture they built. It would be a crime not to drink it!

Crafted primarily from Railyard Vineyard in the heart of Marlborough’s Golden Mile, this wine is an exuberant expression of its vines. -

Old Tom Nottage was the nephew of our founder, Thomas Hardy. He worked for his uncle for more than 66 years, through two generations of the Hardy family and on his retirement it seemed only fitting that his dedication be recognised. Since then Nottage Hill has grown in popularity and every bottle is a vibrant, full bodied and rich expression of classic Australian grape varietals; delivering a rare concentration of fruit flavour together with a soft, smooth palate texture.

Krug
Champagne Krug is one of the famous Champagne houses that formed part of the membership of the Grande Marques. Krug Grande Cuvée is one of the crown jewels in the LVMH Wine Division, placed alongside the Moët et Chandon's Cuvée Dom Pérignon and Veuve Clicquot's La Grande Dame.
Our philosophy is to select grapes from individual plots which will each express their distinctive features, their nuances and their uniqueness. There is no hierarchy in our selection, no plot is favoured over another. A plot may sometimes be smaller than a garden. What interests us is the character, the contrast between the grapes from different plots. Krug is the only Champagne House to capture the essence of each unique plot in an individual wine

Kung Fu Girl Riesling
It takes an unconventional winemaker to make a totally unexpected dry Riesling. One night, Charles Smith was eating Chinese takeout and watching a fight scene in a notorious martial arts film when he had an idea: a killer white wine made to be paired with Asian food. Just like that, Kung Fu Girl was born. And it’s been kicking ass and taking names ever since. -

Marchesi Antinori
The Antinori family has been involved in the production of wine for over six centuries, ever since, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered as a member, the “Arte Fiorentina”, the Winemakers’ Guild of the city of Florence.
Each and every vintage, each and every separate area, each and every idea which is to be put into practice is a new beginning, a new search for higher quality standards. As Marquis Piero Antinori likes to repeat: “Ancient roots play an important role in our work, but have never been a limit to our innovative spirit”.
The Marchesi Antinori firm expresses its passion for viticulture by a constant search for even the smallest areas for quality improvement. For this reason, continuous experiments go forward both in the vineyards and in the cellars, before their commercial release for the bottled wines as well.
The Antinori family has been part, ever since its foundation, of the PFV, the “Premium Familiae Vini”, an informal association of winemaking houses which belong to families. PFV goes beyond geographical boundaries and sustains a common unifying principle: that of the ownership of vineyards and the production of wine as a family activity to maintain and refine – just like a great wine – over time.

The art of blending is much more common in our lives than we may think. In the case of wine, blending produces more interesting, elegant, and complex wines than any of the individual varieties. Wines with unique personalities in which the varieties that go into them are expressed and complement each other in perfect balance.

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin (French pronunciation: [vøv kliko pɔ̃saʁdɛ̃]) is both a champagne house in Reims, France, and a brand of premium champagne. Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, Veuve Clicquot played an important role in establishing champagne as a favoured drink of haute bourgeoisie and nobility throughout Europe.
At Veuve Clicquot, the vine is considered to be the nourishing mother and is therefore the focus of everyone's attention. Throughout the seasons, it received the care necessary to ensure that it develops fully with a view to revealing the best of itself and grapes of exceptional quality.
True to its heritage, the House is proud of its motto:
"Only one quality, the finest."
A short lineage of just 10 Cellar Masters has led this quest for quality, thereby ensuring the continuity of the Veuve Clicquot style: strength and complexity.
Veuve Clicquot privileges excellence and quality. Only the juice from the cuvée (the first – and most noble pressing) is used.

Villa Antinori
The Antinori family has been making wine for over six hundred years, since Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. Throughout its long history, spanning 26 generations, the family has always personally managed the business making innovative, sometimes courageous choices, always with unwavering respect for tradition and the land.
Antinori has always been identified with the regions of Tuscany and Umbria, with almost 1,400 hectares of vineyards planted in the most highly suited area for high quality wine production. Chianti Classico, Bolgheri, Montalcino, Orvieto, Montepulciano – all famous zones – as well as Sovana and southern Maremma, which are both very interesting emerging zones.
For Marchesi Antinori the production of fine quality wines goes hand-in-hand with a continual assessment of possible areas for improvement. Over the years, the Antinori family's interest in the wine world and their desire to discover and compare new, different varieties and terroirs has brought them in contact with other wine growing areas in Italy and abroad. Meeting producers and discovering grape varieties from other Italian regions and outside the country has resulted in important working relationships and, in some cases, direct involvement in the running of an estate. Within Italy, Antinori has vineyards in the best areas of Piedmont, Puglia and Franciacorta with its Prunotto, Tormaresca and Montenisa estates.

FIJI Water
FIJI Water is artesian water, bottled at its pristine source on the islands of Fiji. FIJI’s soft, smooth taste is the result of the unique mineral profile of the volcanic rock in Fiji. The island nation of Fiji is a cluster of green jewels set in the endless blue of the Pacific. In fact, the very name “Fiji” has become an icon of beauty, nature, simplicity, and remoteness – and when it comes to drinking water, “remoteness” is a critical blessing. In this isolated and idyllic setting, FIJI Water is drawn from an artesian aquifer that lays hundreds of feet below the edges of a primitive rainforest. That distance and isolation is part of what makes FIJI Water so much purer, healthier, and richer in taste than other bottled waters.

Perrier
Perrier is a natural sparkling mineral water that is well known throughout the world. Famous for its elegantly-shaped green bottle, Perrier is the ultimate refreshment to quench all thirsts. In 1863, the PERRIER saga began: bubbles taken from a French spring were bottled, ready to satisfy people’s thirst. In 1898, Dr. Louis Perrier became the owner of the spring, which would later take his illustrious name. While the bubbles have remained intact over time, the bottle has evolved with the consumer needs. In the 2000s, the natural sparkling mineral water became available in 100% recyclable PET bottles. Best served with a splash of lime or sliced strawberries.
