SENIOR ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT - INVENTORY CONTROL

This role is focused on continuously maintaining system integrity through accurate records and inventory status of products.

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:  
  • Executes and updates all inventory transfer requests and stock adjustments on a daily basis as required
  • Provides administrative support for all inventory counts at WMS locations
  • Updates all Non-WMS location inventory count sheets into VAI and provide variance reports to the Warehouse for further investigations
  • Corrects and reconciles all inventory discrepancies when appropriate investigations have been completed by the Inventory Auditors (Warehouse)
  • Prepares monthly reports  for Senior Management
  • Investigates and addresses queries from all internal Divisions and Retail Outlets, providing research, follow-up, and recommendations
  • Authorizes Purchase Orders to be updated after ensuring that information entered on the physical costing sheets are accurate
  • Advises and approves the creation of new item numbers
  • Maintains an efficient filing system to allow for easy retrieval and processing
  • Liaises with the warehouse to ensure that receiver reports are received on a timely basis and before the month end close off
  • Monitors outstanding warehouse transfers and stock adjustments following up for any outstanding documents
  • Reviews all product costings to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Participates and provides support for all inventory counts at WMS and Non-WMS locations as required
  • Checks the aged open payables report on a weekly basis to ensure that all outstanding invoices/credit notes are current and on the forex listing for payment as required
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Completion of CAT or Level I ACCA Qualification, and currently pursuing Level II ACCA
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of an Accounting software package would be an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
